Brax Men – Autumn/Winter 2013

Nordic metropolis: Copenhagen serves as the individual, authentic, earthy inspiration for the latest BRAX collection. The self-confident, individual autumn/winter looks draw on Danish design culture to once again communicate the core BRAX statement of “Mein Leben passt mir” (Fits my life to a T). The trend this season: the style remains sporty but gains in cultivated rusticity. The look has been distilled and naturally charged thanks to high-quality fabrics or patterns such as large-repeat checks. The use of different knit weights and contrasting ribbons, zippers and piping presents an exciting synthesis of contrasts. The trend toward camouflage is unmistakable: decorative prints in camouflage colours are tastefully staged to give the collection a natural appeal.

Burnt colours remain the hot topic in winter and showcase earthy nuances such as chestnut and relatively subdued shades. The new focus is on intense greens such as lively “Jungle”, upscale “Garden” or dark “Cedar”, a strong needle green. Burnt shades of yellow such as “Harvest” lend exciting accent. The metallic trend is defined in copper colours such as “Rust”. Overall, colour is becoming more muted, restrained and saturated and continues to be a vehicle for the collection’s core statement.

The focus in trousers is on piece-dyed coloured denim, slim tapered chinos and five-pocket models. The styles can be ideally combined with casual sports coats or knit blazers for contrasting nuances in a ready-to-wear look. The outfit is rounded off with college rib styles in tone-on-tone gradients and sweatshirt articles featuring special authentic sporty seam details and systematic zipper solutions.

The V-neck sweater has been reinterpreted to be lighter and more sporty and is ideal for in between seasons as a fine-knit item. All styles have been exclusively developed for BRAX and come with even more sophisticated details, including fine zippers and leather trim on zipper ends. Highlights include a cool parka with camouflage lining and a field jacket in reduced camouflage style.

Sporty, cultivated and earthy are the winter attributes reflected in BRAX fabrics: soft flannel, voluminous lambswool and cotton-wool blends. The rusticity of the mix of materials and structures is defined through the fabric. The sporty washed blazer plays an increasingly important role and is available in cord, denim or jersey. Wool-look trousers and satin-weave models are ideal accompaniments. The V-neck sweater in cotton-wool blend is crafted with cotton on the inside and wool on the outside to ensure outstanding comfort on the skin and “Feel good” appeal. The outdoor range is dominated by light down, quilted styles and wool jackets with flannel components; warming, yet lightweight combinations make them extremely comfortable.
