AW11 Z Zegna Campaign

The AW11 Z Zegna Campaign celebrates sartorial innovations on timeless classics

Get the lowdown on the concept behind the winter 2011 Z Zegna campaign and the message it wants to convey. More than fashion flyers on billboards, the 3-image story is an introduction to a collection that honours the legacy of the classic man with high quality winter fabrics cut in innovative shapes. A magic blend that comes from Z Zegna’s laboratory known for using the best crafts to work on new textile combinations.

This winter is about artisan alchemy and evolves around a newly invented Zegna technique called “digital needle punch” that does not require any sewing or knotting, so no apparent or inside stitches. One of the results is a seamless garment made of leather with a cashmere flannel lining that will not grow old. Shot by fashion photographer David Sims the campaign highlights the richness of a collection embodied by model James Smith who reveals the sophisticated darkness of a futuristic menswear vision. To see: a camel suit, a broad shouldered bomber jacket and an outstanding boxy mid-length coat. Some volumes with a strong story to tell. A man that is self-confident and is at ease with his weaknesses.

Three iconic looks have been captured in three stunning shots to exude the essence of unique designs and to illustrate sensitivity, strength and understated fragility.
